Early Land use - 1931
In 1930, President Truman appropriated for the construction of the Boulder Dam, which offered job opportunities to many working class males. Thus, the population of Las Vegas grew in-considerably. Realizing that it could profit greatly from the influx of adult males, Las Vegas legalized gambling in 1931 (1). In addition to constructing casinos and gambling parlors, various forms of entertainment such as showgirls were brought into the city (2).
